About A taste of culture
The questions we are asked
Where does A taste of culture travel?
A taste of culture is built around South Africa, in Southern Africa. South Africa emerges as a destination of exceptional distinction—an exquisite tapestry of cultures, landscapes, and experiences that together create a journey unlike any other on the African continent. Because every Famous Africa itinerary is planned individually, South Africa can also be combined with neighbouring countries on the same trip.
When is the best time to visit South Africa?
May – Sep (safari) · Nov – Mar (Cape & coast). Year-round. The dry winter is prime for Big-Five game viewing in the Kruger, while summer suits Cape Town, the Winelands and the coast. Namaqualand's flowers are a narrow August–September window.
Is A taste of culture a fixed departure?
No. A taste of culture is a journey Famous Africa has designed, not a set departure with fixed dates or a group to join. It is used as a starting point and then shaped around who is travelling, how long they have and what they want from the trip — so the routing, the properties and the length are all decided with the traveller.
How is A taste of culture booked?
Famous Africa books the lodges, camps, flights and ground arrangements with the relevant suppliers on the traveller's behalf, so one point of contact holds the whole itinerary. A deposit confirms the booking and the balance falls due before travel — the full terms are set out on the important booking information page.
