Do I need a visa or ETA to visit Mozambique?
Mozambique launched a new visa platform at evisa.gov.mz on 11 February 2026. Nationals of 29 visa-exempt countries, including the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Ireland, Switzerland, Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden, need an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) for stays of up to 30 days.
Some neighbours need neither: South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Malawi for 30 days, and Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Botswana for 90 days. Other nationalities apply for a tourist e-visa of 30, 60 or 90 days, which must be used within two months of issue and takes about five working days.

Where this sits in planning a trip
Entry requirements are the traveller’s responsibility, but they shape an itinerary — a routing through a third country can change what is needed, and documents for children can take weeks to obtain. Famous Africa raises them early when planning rather than leaving them to the week before departure.
